About Me

I spent my childhood in the south of England, and moved north when I got married.  Eventually, we settled in Cheshire where we raised 3 great kids.

My dreams of becoming a writer started when I was at high school, but it was only when I had completed my English/Writing degree (1st class hons), and had my PGCE under my belt that my dreams were rekindled.

I also went on to complete my Masters in Creative Writing and taught English.  In order to remain sane, I run and belong to various writing groups, however I spend vast amounts of time on Twitter and Facebook too!

My first book, Seven Stops is well structured (that's what I've been told), with multiple narrators.  Looking back, I like the fact that it took me seven very long years to complete. Mainly because I couldn't leave it alone, returning again and again to edit and proofread. When I reluctantly did leave it alone, it was with the intention that I'd soon do a sequel. Possibly even do a series, one every year for seven years. I loved seven-year-old Jack. Yes he is dysfunctional, but he really needs to be loved. I wanted to give him a resolution. To this day, that is still my intention. As to the heroine, Anna, she was left facing a choice of paths, but definitely hope.

Apart from Echoes Across The Water, my collection of short stories published in India, all of my books are set in Cheshire and incorporate British and Asian cultures.  Reflecting my taste in everything that I love, I write in different genres:

Seven Stops (contemporary fiction)
Goods By Hand (supernatural)
Footsteps Of Galatea (supernatural and sequel to Goods By Hand)
A Fine Balance (crime/romance thriller)
Manna For Heaven (collection of mixed genre short stories)
She Dreamed Of Flash Fiction (collection of 200 word only stories)
Vicious Vignettes (collection of mixed genre prose and poetry)
Devil's Crochet (collection of interwoven supernatural tales)
Echoes Across The Water (collection of Indian short stories)

As well as my w.i.p., which is making very slow progress due to procrastination and the pull of social media, I have three other books in draft form waiting in line to be edited. One is a ghost story and the other two are sequels to Devil's Crochet. I am also being tempted with the idea of writing a book for children...one major problem...I can't draw!
